I know, as we all know that Hurricane Sandy is the B*t@h that Stole Halloween, however I think we all could use a little lift and distraction right about now.  If you are so fortunate right now to be having internet and power, I hope this lightens your mood. If not, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family to find courage, faith, shelter, power, heat and food as soon as possible.

Today, be who you want to be.

Halloween is always so fun because you can be anything you want to be and express yourself in ways that are normally so un-P.C.  It’s time to let your inner imagination run wild. What are you feeling this year?  Are you normally shy and want to let your inner vixen out? Do you find yourself so prim and proper but want to break out the leather and chains. Do you want to show your creativity and push the limits of what you can create and what can be original and only yours?

Do you want to blend in or stand out? Are you so over it this year and all you want to do is hibernate? Or do you just want to join in the fun and throw on some cute accessory or monster blood that will suddenly vamp up your whole persona? Cat ears, vampire teeth, a cape?  Ok, embrace that.

And it’s also fun to really go for it sometimes!

Whatever you want to be, use this holiday as an excuse to push your boundaries and uncover certain aspects of yourself that you normally hide.

This year, through my spiritual growth I decided I just want to be really sparkly and whimsical.  Sparkly is usually my M.O. but the whimsical part, I think I’ve only started to take myself not-so-seriously this year.

My Mermaid costume from last Saturday’s halloween party

Maybe you like to button it up during the year if you don’t feel sexy. (I know I could have surely gone for a skimpier version of my costume this year but I decided I didn’t want to suck in my stomach all night and keep checkin’ out my midsection in self judgment – come on, we all do it!) Maybe you don’t think you look good enough to wear the pre-fab sexy “this” or sexy “that” costume.  Maybe you do and want to flaunt what you’ve got.

Have FUN! Stop judging yourself!!! I mean have you seen the kind of shamelessness that goes on in men, women, gay, straight or transgender from 18 – 98 years old and bodies of all colors, shapes and sizes?

How about celebrating YOU. How ‘bout not giving a sh*t!

Have no shame, have fun, be who you want to be. It’s one night anyway.

Be scary, be sexy, be fun, be you!

Hope that Inspires you and hope that you are safe and keeping warm from the Hurricane!

xoxo
